Dr. Mataragas began his path to becoming a physician at the University of Miami. He was accepted to their prestigious 6-year Honors Program in Medicine with a full tuition scholarship
At just 22 years of age and after having completed the challenging 6 year program, Nicholas Mataragas became Dr. Mataragas.
In hopes of becoming the best, Dr. Mataragas pursued training in Orthopedic Surgery at one of the busiest Trauma Centers in the world, the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center Trauma Center in Miami.
Following completion of Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Miami, Dr. Mataragas obtained further training in Spinal Surgery and Spinal Care at the World-renowned Texas Back Institute.
Dr. Mataragas has obtained and maintained the highest level of certification for orthopedic surgeons in the world, as a certified surgeon of the American Academy of Orhtopedic Surgeons
Overall health can have a significant impact on spine health. The entire patient will be considered when treating patients' spinal conditions. He will recommend and consider the role of health and hormone optimization in patients' care when appropriate.
